The spell was cast by their most powerful mages, and it had an unexpected result: they were able to view through a window into an entirely different world from their own. It was merely an idle experiment, one intended to determine if there were any islands or other landmasses that contained intelligent life they hadn't previously been aware of. ![]() They seek to know how the world works, what is going on in it, and more recently, what is going on outside of it.Ībout three hundred years ago a divination ritual was attempted. They are a group devoted to the accumulation of knowledge in all its forms. The inner circle don't strictly keep their membership secret, but their interaction with others tends to be fairly limited. The formed, over the centuries, an organization that had inner and outer circles. The order was founded about one millennia ago with the thought that, even if a problem could be solved after it had done its damage, it might be possible to stop it preemptively, so as the reduce the damage.
